Château de Mirambeau: where art and history invite you to dive into a storied past and a world of unique atmosphere.
The Château de Mirambeau stands proudly on a hill above the village of
Haut-Saint-Gervais, like an old guardian whose stones hold the whispers
of knightly fights and secrets.
It was built where an 11th-century fortress once stood. This fortress changed hands many times, passing between the French and the English, before finally staying French in the 15th century.
After many sieges, fires, and damage, the current north wing was built in 1570 in the Neo-Gothic style. In the early 18th century, a family from Lorraine bought it, and after the 1789 Revolution, the state took ownership.
In 1813, Count Charles Nicolas Duchâtel bought the estate and rebuilt it in the luxurious Neo-Louis XIII style, mixing Gothic and Renaissance designs.
In 2002 the Castle was totally renovated and refurbished with the best of care and attention to convert it into one of the most marvelous French Relais & Chateaux.
In 2015 the castle was closed due to renovations and reopened its doors in April 2016 with 18 additional rooms and a renovated Spa.
Château de Mirambeau invites to dive into a rich past of art and history and to experience a unique atmosphere.
